Primary 5 OLE Camp
Primary 5 Outdoor Learning Experience Camp
The Primary 5 Camp Programme was a meaningful and engaging learning experience that extended students’ growth beyond the classroom. Through a carefully designed sequence of outdoor activities and team challenges, students developed resilience, adaptability and confidence as they stepped out of their comfort zones. The camp provided authentic opportunities for experiential learning, allowing students to discover their strengths and areas for improvement in a supportive environment.
Strong partnerships between students, teachers and camp trainers were central to the programme’s success. Teachers worked closely with trainers to ensure activities were purposeful, safe and aligned to desired learning outcomes. Positive interactions and consistent guidance fostered trust, open communication and mutual respect. Students were encouraged to voice their thoughts, support one another and reflect on their experiences.
Importantly, students demonstrated the ability to apply their learning in real contexts. They practised teamwork during group initiatives, exercised leadership in task delegation, and showed perseverance during physically and mentally demanding activities. Many displayed improved problem-solving skills and greater self-awareness by the end of the camp. Overall, the programme strengthened character, collaboration and social-emotional competencies, contributing meaningfully to their holistic development.
